Melissa Keil Hi Isabella! I'm not planning a sequel to LiOS, but, there are some sneaky cameos of a bunch of old friends in my latest book, The Secret Science of Magic... :)
Melissa Keil Oh, it should be available as an ebook? It's definitely on the B&N website, and it should also be available on kindle too!
Melissa Keil Thank you, that's very nice to hear! I'm working on my third book at the moment, which should (hopefully) be out in the second half of 2016. Hope you enjoy Cinnamon Girl!
Melissa Keil Hi there, thanks for the question - the third novel is underway, but as it's still a work-in-progress I can't give too much away! I'm doing lots of research on card tricks, and there may be a few appearances from some familiar faces :) :)
Melissa Keil Hi Amy, and thanks for the question. The Melbourne writing and publishing scene is a pretty tiny pool, so my advice would be to network as much as possible - attend as many industry events as you can, get to know publishers and editors, try and volunteer even a couple of weeks of your time at a publishing house (most will take you on for work experience if you're a Prof W&E student). Wheeler Centre events and MWF are great for networking. Good luck, and hope you enjoy the book!
Melissa Keil Thank you so much! My second YA novel, The Incredible Adventures of Cinnamon Girl, is out now. The next book is underway, but it's going to take me some time! Hope you enjoy them too :)
Melissa Keil Thank you very much, that's great to hear :)
Melissa Keil Hi, and thanks for the question! Writing from Sam's perspective never felt all that weird, because his voice was always really strong and clear in my head (like most writers, I do spend a lot of time having long and involved conversations with my imaginary people!) I made some decisions about the way he would speak and the way he would interact with his friends - but in the end, I chose to believe that maybe, deep down, guys and girls are not all that different. Glad you enjoyed the book! xx Melissa
Melissa Keil Hi there, thanks for the question! It's a tricky one to answer, as I'm not exactly working on a sequel to Life in Outer Space, but I am also not quite finished with these characters as yet. Stay tuned : )
