What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Stuart Wakefield That's already happened! Many years ago, I was catfished online by someone saying their name was Leven. After it all died down, I decided that I could make up a story about someone called Leven. That's (partly) how 'Body of Water' came to be!

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
Stuart Wakefield I'd go to Rutshire, the home of Jilly Cooper's Rutshire Chronicles, and throw a massive party for everyone!

Stuart Wakefield He finished the book. Someone had beaten him to it.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Stuart Wakefield I read 'Tailor Made' by Josephine Myles and loved it so much my brain started whirring in the background. The rest is history.

How do you get inspired to write?
Stuart Wakefield In don't. I sit down every day and do it. I don't wait to feel like it or wait for the muse. I just... do.

What are you currently working on?
Stuart Wakefield I'm making a few last updated to 'Behind the Seams' - a new contemporary romance.

After that, I'll be working on 'Mixed Signals' and 'Hidden in the Sand'.

And, yes, I'm still working on 'Spirit of Water'!

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Stuart Wakefield Finish something. Finish anything. Take part in National Novel Writing Month if you have to.

Stuart Wakefield Being in control of the actors, set, lighting, costumes, and dialogue.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Stuart Wakefield I don't get it, thank goodness. As of April 2020, I write full-time. My bum's in the chair every morning, and I get cracking. I don't wait for the muse.

Any planned releases for 2016? Thanks
Stuart Wakefield I'm afraid not, Lee. I graduated from my MA that year, so I needed some time off. I have a new book due out within the month, a contemporary romance set during the filming of a reality TV show.

I continue to struggle with finishing Spirit of Water - I'm on my seventh rewrite!!!
