Echo Island swirled around in my mind for a long time. The end existed before the rest of it. Spending my summers on the Rideau Canal has been a wonderful source of inspiration. For me, it is rich with family, so Echo Island needed to reflect that as well.
I am currently working on another novel with the same setting but different characters. It tackles the complexity of family in a different way than Echo Island and looks at adoption through multiple lenses. Again, I have drawn from both my own experiences and my overactive imagination.
