What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Linda Root After sending autopsy results to out of county forensics and six months of retesting sites and tissue samples, I still don't know what killed my hearty 36 year old husband Jack.

Linda Root Novo roma, and I would align myself with Aurelia, and fight!

Linda Root Three and a half. The one who hit my son didn't last long enough to count.
I have three children from each husband who warrants a whole number, , ages 56, 42 and 35, and a stepson who is 53 whom I count fully. I have been divorced twice and widowed twice and share my living space with two giant wooly malamutes and occasional house guests.

What are you currently working on?
Linda Root I am finishing book four in the Legacy of the Queen of Scots series, In the Shadow of the Gallows, and I am about to embark of the 2014 NaNoWriMo competition with The Green Woman II: The Curse of Fyvie.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Linda Root It is based loosely on the Gunpowder Treason, but with a Scottish twist. I am looking for events to provide a historical backdrop for Daisy and Will's adventures. Next comes a child born to Arbella Stuart while she is in the Tower and smuggled out ofcountry. Sounds a bit like The Midwife's Secret: "Mystery of the Hidden Princess except this hidden princess with not be as fortunate as Marguerite de Kircaldy, La Belle Ecossaise. After that, there is the murder that sent Frances Howard and her husband Robin Carr to the tower.

How do you get inspired to write?
Linda Root I read history and I find a novel in it. Or I have lunch with my friends Camile and the Morongo Blonds, or i commit to something like the NaNoWriMo competition. It's easy to be inspired to write when you are as old as I am with a head full of wonderful, frightening, inspiring and scintillating words in need of escape.
