Inspiration can come from anywhere. I once wrote a novel (which will never be published) that was inspired by a house I used to pass every day going to work. I began to wonder who lived there and what it looked like inside and from that my imagination took hold and I created a story.

Don't give up, write as often as possible (daily, if you can) and read every day. While writing can be a challenge to fit into a daily schedule, you can pick up a book and read for five minutes. Reading can inspire and help you become a better writer.
