J.D. Zeeman I am not sure if it is a real thing. What I am, is lazy. And what I do is procrastinate because I find it difficult with a fulltime job. But I have ideas and book titels lined up, and once you simply sit down and start writing, the words will come. What I will say, is that I will rewrite and ponder about a sentence and its structure (as English is my second language) over and over, but I cannot say that I have experienced a loss of words before.
J.D. Zeeman The absolute freedom of creating anything you can dream up. It does not even matter if it exists or not. I thought of becoming an inventor at one stage - but why? I can create so much more through writing. If you want, create a new world, a new race, a new language, a new energy source, etc. But the best is, you may just create a character that ends up being world famous one day. Who has not heard of James Bond? Not just that, you the writer, also find escape from this world (just like your readers) to the exciting one you created.
J.D. Zeeman If it is something you love doing, then run with it. Know that it requires dedication and commitment especially when doing it part time. If you have a creative mind, you should write. But learn the process first before rushing in and just publish some writing. Make sure to get an editor for your book. It is a truely satisfying feeling publishing your book, and I hope you experience it one day. Never give up and know, it is never too late to start writing. You CAN do it!
J.D. Zeeman Actually a short story for my lead magnet that is the prequel to my Owen Able series. Then onto my second book in the series: Owen Able and the Assassin.
J.D. Zeeman Listening to music. It sometimes inspires a scene or I will choose a music piece that will fit with the scene I have in mind. Watching a good movie certainly creates a spark as well.
J.D. Zeeman It stemmed from creating a character that is the opposite of me, but whom I aspire to be like. For example: I am short, while he is tall. I am less than average, whereas my character is muscular. He tends to think of others before himself, while I, although I would like to, tend to think of myself first. I wanted it to be a thriller, so for a plot, it is limited to only a few options: revenge, saving the world, rescue, theft, murder, etc. With the end goal in mind, the story simply unfolds as I write.
J.D. Zeeman I would travel to Lothlórien, staying in a treehouse next to the Celebrant stream, where time runs at a different pace. Lazy fishing days, hunting, basking in nature's perfect beauty, watching the sun set to my eyes' delight, all the while sharing this euphoric experience with my one true love until the sun no longer rises in the morning, the moon no longer shines, and the heavens cease to exist. That is how I will spend my days.
J.D. Zeeman I woke up to static growling noises that eminated from my phone beside my bedside table, the groans growing louder and louder, until a deep, monsterous voice slowly said, "I see you!" As I stomped the phone to silence, shattering its screen into millions of microscopic glass shards, the pieces magically floated upward and reassembled in mid-air, reflecting my glowing bloodshot eyes staring back at me.
