Do you know who Bobby Fox (RJ Fox, author name) is? He’s an author from the Ypsilanti area, UofM Dearborn grad, uses real life experiences or the love of Detroit to spin off stories. I recommend, based on your books, Awaiting Identification. If you haven’t already, I think you’d like to meet/touch base with him. Zug Island caught my eye. He has a short film on it…or in it…or something. It sounded intriguing.

Very interesting article Gregory. I'm just wondering is it hard to do research on what is essentially a Michigan Story when you live in California, in spite of the internet and it's search engines?
Gregory A. Fournier I can't lie. Living so far away makes traditional research a hit & miss proposition. The internet info can be downloaded virtually anywhere. My topics are generally obscure to modern readers--especially younger Detroiters. Thanks for asking, Mike.

Gregory A. Fournier Learn your craft and become an expert on The Chicago Manual of Style. Seeking professional editing help early on can save you time. Successful writers don't do it alone and neither should you.

What are you currently working on?
Gregory A. Fournier Promoting my newest work "Terror in Ypsilanti: John Norman Collins Unmasked." I'm about to begin another true crime. In 1935, seven year old Richard Streicher was found murdered under the Cross Street bridge in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The Ypsilanti Historical Society has asked me to tell the story of this unsolved murder using vintage police reports and news clippings.

How do you get inspired to write?
Gregory A. Fournier I try to write something daily, but occasionally I need a day or two to give it a rest. My writing motto is "When the muse comes looking for you, she better find you working."

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Gregory A. Fournier The full, nonfiction story of serial killer John Norman Collins has never been told in book form leaving a gaping hole in Ypsilanti history.
