I go out for a while and focus on anything but writing. Shopping is always good therapy! If I empty my brain and even do the most mundane or mindless activity, I can always come back to the page and find that I have been stirred up by something around me.

I can't NOT (double negative!) be a writer. It is in my blood and my mind, swirling around with constant thoughts and ideas. It releases any demons or any feelings at all and gets them onto paper to relieve stress, to create happiness, to energize me. I choose to write. It is an amazing feeling of accomplishment.

I've been writing since I am fourteen and published in different areas; i.e. poetry, a travel article in Glamour Magazine, editing scholarly books, and now two fictional novels. I am inspired by the world around me.

Since my first novel, Cable's Image, was purely a romance book, I wanted my second one, Split the Difference, to have some cause for my main characters to intensely dislike each other. So, I created a plot that would cause the readers to be on a whirlwind journey with them.
