I have always had a crazy imagination. Horror and psychological thrillers have been my favorite genre since my teens. I remember reading Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, books by the late Anne Rice along with Stephen King.
I find inspiration in the actual, historically dark stories within the PNW.
There is much history to glean from. I then add my own twists and build a haunting story based on this. I analyze, trying to get into the mind of why people do what they do and what drives those decisions. What makes a killer? Are they born with a dark side within them or made? These are all valid questions depending on the character I wish to write about.
