Many of the stories in my Jack MacTaggart mysteries are inspired by real cases I handled during my 25 years as an L.A. trial lawyer. Take, for example, the prologue to THE LAST HEIR. I actually represented the wife of a prominent Angelino who died and left not one but two grieving widows. As the saying goes, truth is stranger than fiction.
