Sorry Harvey, got my social media mixed up. I have your email there, what format would you like the book?

Almost finish a new travel book about my journey across South Africa. It's called "Cape Town to Kruger: Backpacker Adventures in South Africa and Swaziland" - check www.johndwyerbooks.com for updates.

Don't give up. It's easy to get discouraged as producing a quality book takes a long time. Stay the course and you won't regret it.
Also try to be disciplined with your writing. It's easy to loose focus with the distractions of everyday life but try to put aside some time each day - even if it's only 5 minutes - to write....and keep lots of coffee handy!

Hearing from people who read my book and enjoyed it. People I never met and took the time to get in touch with me and tell me how much they enjoyed what I wrote. That's a thrill I'll never get tired of.

The all too frequent times I suffer from writer's block, I just close the laptop and do something else. Anything. I might also move onto another part of the book that I can add to, update my blog www.johndwyerbooks.com or post some photos to Facebook or Twitter. After a few days, I can come back to the section again and take a fresh look at it. Oh and a short run is a great way to clear any tiredness and get ready for some writing.
