If you can not, I mean if you are able to feel okay avoiding writing, then don't. It's so much work and risk and anxiety. But if you have stories that keep you up at night, then you have to get them out of your head and onto paper. Then you have to share them. Rinse, repeat. (It helps to have a brutally honest cheer squad.)

We laughed at each others' campfire stories and dismissed the shadows lurking beyond the firelight as figments of our imagination, but our laughter faltered as the sounds and shadows of the woods drew in on all sides. We realized too late that something sinister was waiting and ready to turn our laughter into screams.
