Gary Lucero I just keep living my life and wait.

Gary Lucero It's challenging work but rewarding. It is fulfilling when others enjoy your work.

Gary Lucero Write every single day. Write even if you don't want to. Write even if what you write is terrible. Also, take inspiration from everything. Music. TV. Movies. Books. Nature. War. Death. Everything!

What are you currently working on?
Gary Lucero I'm finishing up a book of short stories, and am working on another book of poetry.

How do you get inspired to write?
Gary Lucero For poetry, it's musical lyrics. Amazing songs by artists like Neil Young, Jon Anderson (of Yes), Pete Townshend (of The Who), and Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd) have incredible lyrics that are evocative and really stimulate my mind.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Gary Lucero I've been writing poetry since I was 17, but last fall I started sorting through the poems from the last 30+ years and writing new ones. That work culminated in my book In Letting Go.
