Hi JL, and thank you for the question and for your interest in my books.
Listening to Sasquatch thrillers while trail running? That is daring! Haha. I don’t think I could do that. My imagination and anxiety would absolutely get the better of me.
To answer your question, what first drew me to the genre was my fascination with wild things. I grew up obsessed with bears, particularly grizzlies, and wolves. That passion eventually led to volunteering with a Black Bear non-profit in Minnesota, falling in love with Yellowstone (my favourite place on earth), and later living in Calgary, Canada. While there, I loved visiting Banff National Park, always hoping to spot wildlife.
After reading just about every book I could find on those subjects, I happened to come across one about Sasquatch encounters. I hadn’t paid much attention to the topic before, but that book sent me straight down the rabbit hole. Podcasts followed. Lots of them.
After a business of mine closed, I found myself looking for something new to focus on. My partner had always joked that I should write a book because I take forever to get to the point when telling a story (which, I guess, still checks out!). So, in February 2024, I did just that, with absolutely no expectation that anyone would read it. I simply wrote what would scare me.
Somehow, it resonated with people around the world who share a fascination with cryptids, and for that I’m incredibly grateful. That response is what fuels the fire to keep writing more books.
Thanks again for reaching out and for your interest. Take care.
