Pray. Stop thinking about writing, start focusing on God. What is He saying to me today? It may be something to write about and share, or it may be just for me to journal or meditate on for my own use. And if it's the latter and I don't write anything today, so what? My relationship with my Creator is top priority, and if He wants me to write, He'll inspire me. (And if He doesn't ... then it doesn't matter!)

My first nonfiction is almost completed. Its title is "Barriers (So if prayers are so powerful, how come mine don't get answered?)" In it I share what I have learned from Scripture about the things that hinder our prayers - and most of them are things we can actually do something about! My hope is that anyone who reads "Barriers" will come away better able to pray effectively - the prayers God WANTS to answer, so that He can start doing His will - which is, after all, better than anything we could come up with on our own. We have yet to see what God can do when His people are submitted to Him and in the center of His will - but I want to find out!

I am "inspired to write" when I HAVE TO write! When I get an epiphany, I feel compelled to share it, and my closest friends are the recipients of the nuggets of truth and wisdom God gives me. When I feel especially enlightened, I will write down my discoveries, usually woven into a story designed to draw the reader in. In my latest book - my first nonfiction - the stories are true, usually an experience I have learned from - with all the boring parts taken out. ;)

As a Christian, I am passionately interested in the topic of prayer.I have seen prayer move mountains (and one lake!), and I have also known many instances where people (including myself) have been frustrated at the SEEMING lack of results to our sincere prayers. In my Bible reading/studying I have discovered that the Bible has much to say about this topic, and I want to share what I've learned and how removing these obstacles opens the door for God to work in ways we never could have imagined! My present project, which I have almost finished, is entitled "Barriers (So if prayers are so powerful, how come mine don't get answered?)"
