My current book Consequences is loosely based on my family history. When I was 18 I discovered that my father had a second life that I knew nothing about. It wasn't until I retired that I felt I had the time and head space to tell that story. As both my parents are no longer alive I found it a cathartic exercise that helped me to put myself in my father's shoes and try and tell hsi side of the story.

I have just started writing my second book. It's a psychological thriller called Seven Magpies . The protagonist is a hardworking, disillusioned teacher on the verge of a breakdown. Pushed into counselling she doesn’t believe in, she is surprised to find an instant connection with her enigmatic therapist. As she gradually opens up, past secrets are revealed, and childhood memories resurface. But how true are her recollections and can her therapist really be trusted?
