Hi Santino. I absolutely love the Five Boroughs series! I've read Mikey and Zio twice plus listened to the audiobook. It was great hearing them brought to life and I would love to "hear" David and Ray. Any plans on Sunset Park audiobook?

Hi Santino! I love your writing so much. I have a really random question about the shorts you are writing for your monthly blog posts. Do you think you would ever write a short taking place over the weekend that Michael and Nunzio spend together in SB? Where they're like, not admitting feelings yet, but sexing each other all over the apartment? I would love to get a further glimpse into that weekend. Thank you!
Santino Hassell I'm totally open to writing that. :) I plan to write a few scenes that take place during SB, but from Nunzio's POV. In fact, I'm open to suggestions about other Five Boroughs shorts as well!

Santino Hassell Eventually, we want to! But we're dedicating time to solo projects before we get sucked back into ICoS. Don't worry, we've not abandoned the series! ICoS is incredibly important to us.

You write some seriously badass female characters. I especially liked Meredith in First and First. She got me thinking- is writing an FF story something you'd ever be open to?
Santino Hassell Thank you! And I am definitely open to it. In fact, I'd like to write Meredith's story which would be F/F. :) At the moment, my writing schedule is packed so it's something I'd have to consider for next year.

Santino Hassell The next Five Boroughs novel is First and First, and the main characters are Caleb and Oli.

I really enjoyed Stygian! Do you plan on continuing the story? The way it ended made me think you might.
Santino Hassell Eesh, sorry for late reply. I vaguely plan a series of shorts or novellas about the Stygian characters but I have no idea when I'll get to it. It will be something I work on here and there.

Are we going to see more of Hunter and Jeremy and Kennedy? I loved Stygian so much but there are so many more things to learn!!!!!!!!!!

Stygian is hands down my favorite book of 2015 so far. Just wow. Strong work, and thank you! How did this story come to you?
Santino Hassell Thank you so much! Honestly, I've always wanted to write a book with a drippy southern gothic atmosphere and a horror story that is more mindfuck than mystery. I was very inspired by Poppy Z Brite and Christopher Rice.

You and Ais have written a lot, a loooot together (I think you said 1.5 million words for ICoS), after so much writing and editing experience, does writing just flow for you now(is it easier)? (As someone who wants to go on and do a masters, I sure as hell hope so)
Santino Hassell I wouldn't say it has gotten easier but I'm much better at identifying the weaknesses in my writing and finding ways to address them. I think I've improved a lot over the past several years but writing isn't something I'm ever going to master. I'm always going to be reading craft books and looking for new ways to improve.

Can't wait to read this! You're one of my favorite new authors. Don't know how I missed it in your blurb, but ASoIaF for the win! Also, R+L=J! Who's your favorite character? Mine is a toss up between Arya and Tyrion.
Santino Hassell Same as yours! Arya and Tyrion are definitely my favorite characters in the books. I also like Jon Snow a great deal. However, I do feel that Dance wasn't great for Tyrion's plotline.

Hii, Ais told me Tobby from ICoS is your character. I’m curious about him, did he really want to be Level 10 or he was afraid of telling no to his grandfather? What can you tell me about his family?
Santino Hassell Hi Rosa. Sorry for super slow reply! Toby is an ambitious guy so he definitely wanted to achieve the goal, but he wouldn't have gone for it on his own without his grandfather pushing him. He knew deep down that he wasn't ready.

When you and Ais wrote ICOS, did you guys ever feel emotionally exhausted like I did when reading your amazing series? Also will you guys (if you can) have QandA type of interview? Almost like live? I'm one of your latest and newest fans and I would really love to know about your thoughts about your series? But its okay if you guys can't. :)
Santino Hassell Writing ICoS for nearly a decade was a process that was at once amazing but also really exhausting because of not only time/effort put in, but the heavy subject matter. I'm not sure if we will do another Q&A in the near future but we've done chats in the past so it isn't out of the question. Will ICoS ever be sold on Amazon in the near future?
Santino Hassell Probably not. We don't plan to sell the books until we have them professionally edited, but you can download them for free now!

I've fallen in love with the in the company of shadows' series. I wish there were more. So anyway, are you thinking of writing any science fiction anything soon? After reading that series I had a hard time finding other book that was as interesting, funny, tear jerking, intriguing... Oh yeah, I'll waiting for new release.
Santino Hassell I have some plans for paranormal novels in the future, but so far no other dystopian/sci-fi. I love that genre though, so I'm sure I'll return to it. :) If Ais and I do the sequel to ICoS, there's always that!
