Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Jim Manley Dating to my time in military service, I have kept contemporaneous notes, collected news clippings, snapped photos of an unusual nature, and given free rein to my passionately curious side. The result has been a vast collection of odds and ends providing enormous opportunity to connect the dots and weave them into a story of interest that touches upon some reality, historical event, or social concern that may likely have touched each of our lives. Such was the case with Dead Deal. Many years ago, an abandoned boat was found adrift on Lake Huron. The passengers known to have been on board were missing at the time and there was no sign of foul play. Another, unrelated tidbit popped up in a two paragraph digital news story about a body part found by hunters in the woods. Combine those with a nationally experienced mortgage meltdown and let your imagination run wild. I did.
