I am looking for a Bible study to do with a neighbor who has just started asking questions about my faith, about Christ, and about the Bible. I am trying to find a study that would answer some basic questions about Christ for her that we could do together. Would this study accomplish that, or would there be a different one you would recommend?
Elizabeth Reynolds Turnage Hi Martha, I'm sorry I missed this question before. Learning God's Story of Grace gives an overview of the Bible. I might also suggest for questions about Christianity a study on the book Basic Christianity or books from Christianity Explored.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Elizabeth Reynolds Turnage I schedule times to write, and whether I feel particularly inspired or not, I have to try to write something during that time period. Sometimes I start awkwardly but then really get going.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Elizabeth Reynolds Turnage My favorite part about being a writer is when I hear from readers that something I wrote helped them or encouraged them or made them feel not so alone.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Elizabeth Reynolds Turnage My best advice for aspiring writers is...JUST WRITE. Get in a practice of freewriting for 15 minutes a day, preferably when your mind is freshest. Usually that gets you going, and you'll want to do more at another time.

What are you currently working on?
Elizabeth Reynolds Turnage Right now, I'm mainly working on getting the word out about The Waiting Room-- review help ;-)!
I'm also considering writing a followup to The Waiting Room that will focus more broadly on how God meets us in many different waiting spaces or uncertainties of our lives. What do you think?

How do you get inspired to write?
Elizabeth Reynolds Turnage Sometimes an idea comes to me while I'm exercising! It must be something about the endorphins!
I also get inspired by personal stories and interactions with people.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Elizabeth Reynolds Turnage My most recent book came out of a season in which our son was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and my father was dying of prostate cancer. As I sat in so many waiting and hospital rooms, I knew the hope and comfort of the gospel. I wanted to offer that comfort, something that would center and stabilize people in this hard place.
