Hi Martha, I'm sorry I missed this question before. Learning God's Story of Grace gives an overview of the Bible. I might also suggest for questions about Christianity a study on the book Basic Christianity or books from Christianity Explored.

My best advice for aspiring writers is...JUST WRITE. Get in a practice of freewriting for 15 minutes a day, preferably when your mind is freshest. Usually that gets you going, and you'll want to do more at another time.

My most recent book came out of a season in which our son was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and my father was dying of prostate cancer. As I sat in so many waiting and hospital rooms, I knew the hope and comfort of the gospel. I wanted to offer that comfort, something that would center and stabilize people in this hard place.
