Reading a book and stepping away. Sometimes I have to read books in other genres to give my mind a break. Something else I learned, when I was in college taking one of my creative writing classes, I was told to never end with a finished sentence. I don't know why, but if I feel like my brain is about to fuse out with a scene, I end it in the middle of a sentence. For some reason a new sentence always fuses me out faster, but ending it in the middle of one is easier to jump back into.

Not everyone is going to give positive feedback with what you write, but at the end of the day all that matters is if you love what you are doing. And most importantly, just keep writing!

My mom. When I was younger I read a lot of books and when I couldn’t find one that had what I wanted to read, my mom said I should write my own story. So I did and have been since.

I was cleaning my garage and found the notebooks to the first book I ever wrote and decided to rewrite it. So far the book has taken on a whole new life from where I expected it to go.
