Poorly, so very poorly. I'm certainly not the right person to teach others about writing. I write when I'm inspired, otherwise I stare at my screen. If there is one trick I use to help it is going hiking, I tend to renew my inspiration when I go for hikes.

Tell your story. Don't write down to your audience and don't write to the market. There may not be a huge audience for what you write but that if you write it well there will be an audience.

This is an unfair question because Little Joe is a series, so I got the idea for the latest addition while I was writing the previous books.
If I trace it all the way back, I first told the story of Little Joe to our flower girl 20 years ago. The story evolved from a stuffed animal and a little girl who wanted a story. 20 years later the characters have evolved and I enjoy visitng their world and sharing the stories I learn.

I'm kind of all over the place. I've just finished a couple more manuscripts for the Little Joe series. I've been outlining and drafting scenes for a new middle grade book idea that I have, and for actual writing... I've been compiling some fun ghost/horror stories, not sure where they will lead but it is an interesting outlet.
