Thea Maii My time is my own. Which means I can spend time doing a lot of useless, time wasting things all day long, then beat myself up the following day for doing a lot of useless, time wasting things the day before.
On a good day I write, and at the end of the day pour myself a well-earned glass of wine.
Thea Maii After you’ve made the coffee, checked the email, reads various blogs, called your mother, tweeted friends, uploaded photos to Facebook, done the laundry, run to the supermarket, sorted the mail, brushed the dog, talked to the cat, taken out the garbage, vacuumed the carpets, done yoga — you now have exactly one hour to write. Hardly worth starting, is it?

On the other hand, you could say: “Hang everything” and make writing the first thing you do.
My advice for writers: check the email, the weather, the news and blogs, then force yourself to sit and write. I doesn’t matter if the spelling is wrong, or the writing is gibberish, force yourself to sit and write. The hardest job in the world is to be a writer, if it wasn’t, then all the people who say they could write a book would be writing!
