I walk away. I see absolutely no reason to stress over writing or try and force myself. I go and do something else, that could be taking photographs around the city, reading a few books, curling up and watching a movie, going to a night out with friends. Anything to relax me and remove any stress that make me related to the project. It'll sort itself out when my mind's unravelled the problem.

Learn the basic craft, then experiment and find your voice. Don't worry about those silly rules about how adverbs are evil, or never use a dialogue tag other than said. Dive in, explore, find yourself, what makes you tick, what you're passionate about, the characters you love. Find your voice and run with it.

Wyrd Calling came from the bare bones of the very first book I write, Tiaden Dawn. I rewrote Tiaden Dawn in 2011 I believe it was but it floundered. I couldn't leave it alone though, I returned to it in 2014 and pulled it apart. I kept the opening 3 chapters and the cast, otherwise it's a brand new book.
