Too many things! I should focus, but right now I have a little bit of a new novel, a little bit of a new memoir, and a some parts of a book proposal about essay writing for writers and teachers.

I don't really believe in inspiration. I just try to sit down and write, usually in the morning for a couple of hours and keep going. Something will usually click if I keep doing that. But I walk around the city, talk to friends, look at Instagram and read and watch as much as I can to keep my mind open.

Mostly, I don't feel blocked and if I do, I just write through it. What I write might be garbage, but I freewrite and try to keep typing and then usually I will pass from garbage into something that is okay. I am sometimes torn between projects and that makes me feel stuck. Right now, I'm at the beginning of a novel and a memoir and I'm not sure which one will hold my attention, so sometimes I end up working on neither.
