Love your work, "Mavericks" looks fantastic! Please may I ask, what's the best way to retain historical information (particularly for someone in a different field, like science, or philosophy)? Do you make particularly extensive notes on the books you read?

Jenny Draper I absolutely take lots of notes- I'm really proud of them! I have big Word documents on each major period in English history, with bullet points sorted by topic, and each bullet point accompanied by a footnote citing the book I got it from. So if I want to refresh my memory on everything I've ever read about, say, Boudica's revolt, or medieval monastic life, I can open up the relevant Word document and skip straight to that section. It takes a lot longer reading a book this way, but it's really useful.
