The best thing about being a writer is hearing from my readers. When I receive an email, stating how they couldn't put my book down, or they missed a hunting raid on World of Warcraft because they were too absorbed with my story, or how my series has stuck with them for weeks since completing it, I feel elated.

When I experience writer's block, I download a book and read. I think this helps my brain disengage from creative mode and allows the creative process to recharge.
