I haven't yet experienced much in the way of writer's block. The pace for my writing has reached a point where I feel pressure to complete a work, so for me, the bigger struggle has been wanting to continue writing when I don't have the time.

Getting the thoughts out of my head and onto the page makes everything so much more peaceful. I get to live through all of the feelings that are existing in the hypothetical in my head and process it all. Without it, my mind becomes a firehouse that is kinked and continuously builds pressure until I explode.

The follow up novel to "It Was Always You" will focus on Charlie as a son and father. There will be more detail from his marriage as well.

Nostalgia always plays a big part in what I write because I believe in only writing from my own experience. Different thoughts can inspire me like "what if THIS happened? or THAT?" but my answer always comes from a context of my own experience.

(view spoiler)[The whole idea for my book came from a meme. It was talking about how awful that feeling is when you finish a book or a series and you no longer have anymore of the characters that you fell in love with. The meme asked, "What if the characters in the book loved you as much as you loved them?" I thought that was a pretty intriguing idea, and that turned into my book, the YA Romance "It Was Always You." (hide spoiler)]
