Kelly F. Barr For me, inspiration comes when I get a great idea for a story, character, or setting. Ideas for stories, characters, and settings come from many places: people I observe out in public, places I go or that someone shares on Facebook. Ideas come from things that are around me at any given time. That's why I always have several pens and notepads in my purse or backpack.
Kelly F. Barr I am currently working on marketing Love by Pony Express, while writing the second book in the "Stars Into Horses" series. I have four chapters completed at this point.
Kelly F. Barr I have three answers for this question:
1) It allows me to work from home and make my own schedule
2) I can spend the majority of my time writing the many stories that are in my head.
3) Now that I have my first book published, I really enjoy meeting and interacting with my readers.
Kelly F. Barr Thankfully, I can honestly say I have never had writer's block. The Lord has blessed me with many story ideas. I have them all written down and hope to be able to turn them all into books. In addition, as I write a story, if I get stuck, I simply stop writing and go back to it the next day, and I have always been able to continue the next day.
Kelly F. Barr This question is probably the easiest to answer that I've seen here so far. I would go to Narnia and I would have tea or brunch with Mr. Tumnus and then lunch or dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Beaver.
Kelly F. Barr I am currently working on reading The Green Ember series by S. D. Smith. It's a series for middle grade readers, but my family starting listening to the audio books several years ago. However, we never finished them, so I decided to pick them up, start and the beginning, and read through to the end so that I could finally know what happened to some of my favorite rabbits.
Kelly F. Barr If you are an aspiring writer, I want you to know that writing is hard work and requires diligence and time. If you really want to be a good writer, don't ever give up on your writing, find a local writers group to join and become active in, study the craft of writing and put what you learn into practice. Also, remember, to release a good book requires several rounds of edits, corrrections, and rewrites, but it's all worth it in the end!
Kelly F. Barr The idea for my book came from two different places: 1) if any of you remember The Young Riders t.v. show that aired from 1989 to 1992, that show was based on the Pony Express. It was one of my favorite shows. 2) Several years ago, while homeschooling my youngest son, I read a story about the Pony Express aloud to him, which rekindled my love for and interest in the Pony Express.
