Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Latif Mercado I used the ol' "What If" technique. "What if, our favorite Freestyle Artist happened to be a Vampire?" Hmmmm. What if?

How do you get inspired to write?
Latif Mercado Inspiration floods me. I have more stories in me than I am able to write. I just pray I live long enough to put them all on paper.

What are you currently working on?
Latif Mercado My 3rd Novel called Yes Yes Y'all. I'm hoping to have it ready by the summer... Wish me luck!

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Latif Mercado I've always had a wild imagination. So much that during my childhood I was considered a compulsive liar by my friends. They wouldn't believe a thing I said, whether it was true or not.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Latif Mercado My writing process begins just before bedtime. I prep my mind to view the story as I sleep. Answering questions, resolving conflicts etc. So by the time I wake up, I have a lot to write.
