(view spoiler)[The Whaler's Daughter launched on July 24th. I see your sister is also an author. Does that make family gatherings extra interesting? (hide spoiler)]

Congrats - I will check out! My sister lives with my family, so gatherings are 24/7... lol. If you're in the DC area on March 26, our double trouble book launch will be at Politics & Prose at 3PM - hope you can join us!

Nice to meet you, Jerry! Launch date is March 25, 2022, but my launch event will be on March 26 at Politics and Prose in DC. How about you?

Too many for one book! But the uncanny messages I've received from loved ones in the afterlife stand out. Each one could be its own story.

Hundred Acre Wood. Given our current pandemic, I would feel safe.

I don't have a list, but I'm currently reading A Monster Calls.

I've heard the cure for anxiety is to accept it. Same goes for writer's block. The more you pull out your hair, the more it becomes a battle that you'll lose. Just accept that writer's block is part of a writer's life. I also eat chocolate, always dark chocolate. It's great for the soul.

Never a dull moment. Exhilarating. A single sentence is victorious. An idea is cause for celebration. I don't write to sell a book. I write for the love it. The book is the cherry topping!

Write, write, write. Be curious. Look & listen to the world outside your own. And when you're still - read, read, read.

A middle grade/YA novel based on my mother's family of hoteliers circa 1937 during the Japanese Occupation of Korea.

I love to write. I'm curious. Honestly, I don't feel whole unless I'm writing. I would say I've grown into a creative writer drawing from my family roots. Everyone has great stories in their family roots - you just have to dig them up. That said, I've battled writer's block many times in my career. Fortunately, I have a chocolate shop that brings balance to my life. When I'm not writing I'm 'breaking chocolate' with my beloved customers.

Set in Sinuiju, Korea (in the north), this historical novel is inspired by my mother's remembrances of her family’s painful struggles during the Russian invasion of their hometown and ultimate flight south, across the 38th parallel to Seoul, just prior to the outbreak of the Korean War
