LeAnna Shields Oh, I don't know if I have a specific one from my own life. At least not one off the top of my head.
LeAnna Shields I could tell you a two word one. No coffee ;)
LeAnna Shields Oh, that's tough. I'd actually like to travel to the town I created. La Sola, Colorado. I'd love to see a world were mythic creatures live and work together in an ordinary way. I'd also like to meet my characters Sabiya and Bridger face to face. :)
LeAnna Shields Mostly Cozy Mysteries, but I do intend to try and read my way through The Saint Series.
LeAnna Shields Music that coincides with the setting of the book. In the case of The Art of the Heart I listened to a lot of electro-swing music.
LeAnna Shields being able to explore aspects of yourself that you're unable to express around others. Does that make sense? What I mean is every character is in some way an aspect of the writer. Maxine (The Art of Facts) gave me chance to explore the bold, sassy, stubborn, and outgoing part of me that my introvert nature refuses to let me express. (well except for the stubborn part.)
LeAnna Shields Always keep dreaming, and always keep writing. Then once you're ready to publish, do your research.
LeAnna Shields So many things, Lol. I'm working on a Magical realism cozy, my next children's book (under the pen name Anna Lee), the sequel to The Art of the Heart series...
LeAnna Shields For me it all starts with the main character. Once I have the main character fleshed out in my head I can see the world they live in and the characters that surround them.
LeAnna Shields I've always loved shows about ancient technology, and after I started researching out of place artifacts (OOPArts) the idea of a book involving archaeology came to me. Then when I saw a picture of a young woman with a mystical pendant on Pinterest. The story finally clicked and The Art of Facts was born.
