What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
John Reisinger Don't quit your day job. Seriously; I know an author who did this in order to promote full time. The extra income from the books did not equal the income from the job.
The quote really should be "Don't quit your day job to become a wildly successful author; quit your day job only after you become a wildly successful author."

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
John Reisinger Stumbled on burned out hotel ruins in the Bahamas and found out it was the Royal Victoria Hotel, a haven for American blockade runners during the Civil War. Started thinking about similar places.

John Reisinger Turn on the computer and stare at it awhile.

John Reisinger The Secrets Behind the Structures is just finished. It is non fiction and tells the hidden stories of the world's greatest structures.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
John Reisinger There is almost no area of human endeavor that commands more respect for less actual accomplishment than writing. Writing has a mystique that is several orders of magnitude beyond reality.

My dear friend (Bernadette Dugan) has a photograph cited in your "Master Detective" book. She is retiring this year, and I obtained a first edition, first printing of the book. Would you consider signing/inscribing it for her? Her retirement dinner will be in December, and I know how proud she is to have her photo in your book. It would mean so much to her.
