Any form of art is a very fulfilling experience. Writing is as much art as it is science. To weave a tapistry and determine the flow of a story is exhilarating. But it also takes patience and a lot of editing! The more layers one experiences in life, the richer this tapestry.

I am exploring a few ideas at the moment. I'm intrigued by a story set in the US and one for children.

There is plenty of authoritarianism around the world. Some folks deal with a dystopian set up every day. Their stories are often untold/unshared. I was influenced by this context but in a speculative backdrop of an undivided South Asia. It's a re-imagining of an ordinary couple's life in an extraordinary environment. There are human truths we all deal with no matter who we are or where we're from. Love, Rejection, Revenge, Pain to name a few. This story focuses on those human truths.

I can usually be found reading historical fiction. I also enjoy creative story telling that broadens a reader's tolerance for the different. Writing a novel was always on my wish list but life usually got in the way.
During Covid, when travel and airports were shut down, I found himself away from my aged (and very worried) parents living in India. Unable to help them in person, I would do lengthy calls to keep them occupied and distracted from the news. From jokes to short stories, I churned those creative juices. The pre-text for Undivided germinated from those calls. Eventually, at my mother's suggestion, I picked one of those stories and wrote this book.
