Hi Karla, I am really looking forward to reading MEENA MEETS HER MATCH. I was wondering what your inspiration was and if any of it was based on personal experiences? If so, I'd love if you'd share that with us.

Karla Manternach Thanks for asking, Liza! Without giving away any spoilers, I can say that there is an important part of the story that was inspired by my family's real-life experience. I'm also inspired by books about strong, smart, funny girls. Just being around kids gives me lots of ideas, too! I don't exactly follow them around with a notebook, but I love how thoughtful and silly and even philosophical they can be. I'm always trying to tap into that mindset when I write for children. Cheers!
