Vicky Kaseorg what happens to the unwed Iranian couple when they turn from the abortion center, but must return in 2 weeks to Iran where death is the penalty for their situation?
Vicky Kaseorg Hi Marissa,
Thanks so much for reading my book! It took me a year to write, and a year to edit. I wrote much of it as journal entries while going through it , which is why I could remember so many details. If you liked that one, you may want to look at my other dog books. Many of them are short - for children - but I intended them to be enjoyable for all ages. My latest book, fiction, is also about a carolina dog and is a murder mystery as well. The theme of animal rescue continues very prominently in that one just as in I'm Listening. The new book, The Bark of the Covenant, is available here: http://www.amazon.com/Bark-Covenant-V...
Vicky Kaseorg I am an artist as well, and artist's block is a common issue. The best way to deal with any block is to just start. Tell yourself it won't be perfect, or maybe even good, but you can edit later. As soon as I get a few words on the page, the block begins to dissipate. Like any craft, it is 1% inspiration, and 99% perspiration.
Vicky Kaseorg When this world stinks, I can create my own. Also, I sometimes have a hard time dealing with strong emotion, and writing helps me to process difficult things.
Vicky Kaseorg Write!!!! and Read great writing. You will become better if you understand and know what great writing looks life. You will also improve if you practice. I write every day, usually several hours a day.
Vicky Kaseorg While working on The Tower Builder, I was also writing my first fiction novel about wild dogs that help solve a murder. That book is due out any day, and is called The Bark of the Covenant. It is about God, at heart, as are all my books.
Vicky Kaseorg I love to write. I have always loved to write. I don't need much inspiration, in all honesty. However, cleaning the house helps clear my mind to write, and going on a long walk or kayak in nature always fill my mind with ideas.
Vicky Kaseorg My most recent published book, The Tower Builder, had an unusual impetus. My brother, a radio engineer, asked me to tour 3 rare, iconic towers in my hometown. I knew nothing about radio towers, and was surprised to discover that not only were they very interesting, but had an interesting history and several mysteries that swirled about them. I tracked down an engaging young engineer who had rebuilt them without blueprints after a hurricane destroyed them. His biography was as fascinating as the towers, with a wonderful love story to spice it up! The book became a treatise on the love of God, family, work, faith, knowledge, history, and character. I discovered, as I hope you will, that I indeed did want to learn about towers, but the towers became a symbol of many more important things.
