I think the best thing about being a writer is the ability to create worlds and characters and stories for readers to get lost in. I love knowing that I can help take a reader away from daily stress or problems, and help them relax with a good story. Okay, there's also a lot to be said for not leaving my house to deal with commutes or snowstorms either! ;)

I've written the first two books of my new "Fairfield Orchard" series, the first of which will come out in September, titled AT FAIRFIELD ORCHARD. The second, SPICED APPLE AUTUMN, will be out in January. Don't worry, I haven't given up on Valentine Valley, but it's fun to explore a new place and create new families. I'm setting this series in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, near Charlottesville. My daughter went to the University of VA, so she's lots of research help. ;)
