Writer's block happens to all of us. It doesn't matter the format for which you are writing. Anytime I find myself in a lull, I know I need to walk away. I find other productive things, outside of the book or work I am doing, to focus my energy into. Once I am comfortable returning to the work, I do.

Everyone is different; therefore, everyone approaches challenges, tasks, goals, etc., in a different way. What has worked for me is that I have always been a list maker, using lists for yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals. When it comes to writing, I always set a deadline and weekly goals for myself to complete, even if it is just 10 pages of nothing. My advice would be to find what works for you, whether that be setting aside 30 minutes a day or a week to write, whiteboard, or outline a chapter. Overall, just do it. Believe in yourself and the story you have in your mind! -Cheers

Oh gosh. There are so many things that I could say; however, I feel that the best thing about being a writer is the absolute freedom to go outside the box and twist concepts, worlds, and ideas that showcase a new perspective.

I found my idea for the 2nd book in the Code of Soul series through self-reflection and trepidation with maintaining the status quo when unhappy. I work throughout the year to reflect on things that are happening around me and with me physically, mentally, and emotionally. This year's self reflection found me identifying certain areas of unhappiness that needed reviewed and ways that I would face or fear facing theme. From there, the 2nd book was born.

Inspiration can come in many forms for me, whether through a song, something I have witnessed or overheard, a feeling, or a question. When I write, no matter what I am writing, I generally love the peace and quiet of my office, but often can be found sitting on our patio, overlooking the lake, writing on a nice day with a glass of wine or martini.

Currently, I am working on editing book 2 in the Code of Souls series.
