I've loved fairytale and fairytale retellings for a long time, so I was excited to write a Beauty and the Beast retelling for Beyond the Bookery. "Beauty in the Shadows" was in part inspired by that with a few touches of inspiration coming from others sources, which wasn't my initial intentions. However, I wanted a twist of the traditional story, so in my version I have a character that is both the beauty AND the beast. Intrigued? Then you can check it out in the book "Evermore" a part of the Fairytale Frenzy collection.

God inspires me a lot of times through little moments in everyday life that I see as an aspect of a potential story. On other occasions something will come to me.

I admit I struggled with a huge writer's block for several years. It wasn't fun, and to be perfectly honest, I felt like a piece of me was missing.
What I have discovered for myself, is that sometimes I need a good challenge to get me going. Write outside of the box, just to do it, with no pressure on yourself.
(Also if you have a community of other writers giving encouragement, you might be surprised what you can do. My local writer's group actually encouraged me to take a chance on writing the story that is featured in Novelists in November.)

Don't give up! While all of the different things in life can make it hard to find time to write, and sometimes you may even feel drained out, keep on writing. I know that isn't easy. This is experience talking. Find yourself some fellow writers to get together with. Other writers can give you encouragement and confidence you might not be able to achieve on your own. <3 Good luck!

I get to have the blessing of putting onto the page what God puts in my heart and mind. Then I get to share them with readers and hopefully impact their lives. I LOVE that!!!

I'm currently working on a variety of different projects! Primarily I'm in editing mode for my short story Pages of Grace which will be found in Novelists in November coming out in November 2024.
I'm also working on a short story called Embracing Joy.... However, I better not say anymore. I'm super excited to be on this journey!
