J. Sterling Hi! The next generation of baseball players came out this year and CHANCE'S book is coming September 3rd!!!! <3
J. Sterling Bailey- I am so sorry (again) for the huge delay in this book. Here's the deal- the one main thing that I was convinced HAD TO HAPPEN in this book, I no longer agree with or want to happen. Basically, I've had to replot and start over with the story. That's why it's taking so long. BUT IT IS COMING! I'm writing it. I'm about half way done with the new draft. :) Thank you so much for your paitence
J. Sterling Paige-
Thank you so much for the sweet words. :)
And lord... I don't know. There was a real Jack Carter, but real life Jack was nowhere near as good as fictional Jack (you know what i mean- cause fictional jack was still a loveable screw-up). I honestly don't know if there are guys out there who are that devoted, that willing to grovel, make grand gestures and right their wrongs no matter what... but i'd like to believe that there are. There has to be, right? I mean, every male on planet Earth can't totally suck. lol
Maybe that's why I write these kinds of guys... because somewhere deep inside, I believe there are good ones out there- ones who are worthy of our love and devotion- ones who would move heaven and earth to be with us, no matter the obstacles. I have to believe in that, or what's the point, you know?
And yes, I believe in soulmates (various kinds, best friends, family members, lovers). Very much so. I think they romantic ones are hard to find, but they absolutely exist (i also believe in various levels of connection). Our bonds with certain people, those ties you can't always explain- you recognize it instantly when it happens because it's so rare, the pull so strong. You know? *sigh* ... now i need to go write. lol :) <3
J. Sterling Emyl- Unfortunately, the deal with the Italian publisher fell through (3 years after we signed a contract) and so now there are no plans to have TPG published in Italy. I really, really, hope that changes.
J. Sterling Hi Emyl- what country are you in? I am still very hopeful that The Perfect Game will make it into many countries. It's a slow process unfortunately.
I am SO excited about this book i'm working on. I'm not sure exactly when it will be published because i'm still in the process of writing it, but i'd like to say that i'll release it by May at the latest. :)
J. Sterling Oh gosh. Thanks so much Paige. Um, that is a hard question because I like to think that fictional Jack was truly sorry. He did the wrong things for all the right reasons. He was trying to be noble. But I never questioned his love for Cassie and I do believe that he proved to her how sorry he was, and that he'd never let anything come between them again. So would I have forgiven Jack? If he was anything like fictional Jack, then probably yes. But if he was more like a real guy- it would depend. I'm not above forgiveness when someone deserves it. We all make mistakes. We all do things we aren't proud of. Some people deserve second chances- it's figuring the ones who are worth it and those who aren't.

Advice to future writers? WRITE. Do it for the right reasons though. Do it because you can't imagine NOT doing it. Not for the money. Not for the fame. Not for any reason other than you have a story burning you up inside that needs to get out. You'll know if it's the right thing for you or not, because nothing will make you feel the way following your heart will. :) <3
J. Sterling Hi Divya! At this point- no. But that doesn't mean it will never happen. Breaking Stars (out now!) is about Paige Lockwood (the actress from Seeing Stars) and I'm working on Quinn & Ryson's story as well (Paige's best friend and also a fellow actress). As soon as that is done, i might think about a story for Keri. I have kicked it around before, but she would come last. lol :)
J. Sterling Hi Andi! I hope by now you know that i've written The Other Game- which is TPG from Dean's point of view. While it's still Jack & Cassie's story, it's from Dean's perspective, which means it's a lot of new scenes, new dialogue and a whole new thought process. I hope you'll enjoy it when you read it
J. Sterling Emyl! That's such a hard question because I feel like I grow and become a better writer with each book that I write. The one i'm working on right now (Dear Heart, I Hate You) is really emotional and therapeutic for me. I'm not sure if it's the best I've ever written, but it's gotta be up there.
Also, it's hard for me not to compare everything I write to The Perfect Game- because nothing has replicated that success and that level of love for a character. You know?
J. Sterling Kelly, thank you so much for reading! I'm so glad you loved the books! :) And yes, I really hope to write a couple of the kids stories. I've started Chance's, but stopped once I felt like i was forcing the story instead of letting it come to me naturally. I'm not one for forcing stories and making them come out- i don't like the way it feels creatively. So until Chance decides to hound me relentlessly.... I'll patiently wait. :)
J. Sterling Oh Clarice- there's room for all of us out there! :) I write all of my books in word and then upload them to each retailer and they do the converting. Does that make sense? If you're still confused, email me directly and i'll be happy to help if i can
J. Sterling Hi Paige! :) I wrote Dean's point of view honestly because the story came about in a conversation I was having with a reader/friend. And once that idea entered my brain, I couldn't stop thinking about it and I had to write it. HAD TO. Chance simply hasn't talked to me yet, and i don't want to force my story for him. When I do write Chance's book (and I have every intention to), I want it to be awesome. You know? :)
What message would I like people to take away from The Other Game? I just wanted to show more of Dean and Jack's relationship. And even though the book is still very much about Jack & Cassie- we get to see how hard that was on Dean. How bad of a position Dean was put in over and over again by Jack's decisions, but how much he still fiercely loved his brother. I don't know how Jack would have survived without Dean.
J. Sterling Hi Dana! I actually DO want to write a book for Chance. And i've started it.... but I keep getting pulled away to do other projects. To be honest, Chance just hasn't really spoken to me yet- and i refuse to force anything Carter related. :)
J. Sterling I write everything in my office- or on my couch in the living room. But i'm always like, lounging... never sitting up straight or at a desk.. always in like a reclined chair. Was that TMI?! HA
J. Sterling Hi Tanya! Breaking Stars will be released on June 29th! It's available for Pre-Order on all sites now! Links are on my website. :)
J. Sterling Jack is so crazy. He makes me LOL :) I can't make any promises, but I will tell you that I think about them a lot- and that's always a good sign.
J. Sterling LOL! Chance Encounters is definitely not about "that" Chance. And I still think about the Carter Clan ALL. THE. TIME. Honestly, I do hope to write about the kids at some point in the future- but with so much on my plate right now, i'm not sure exactly when. :)
J. Sterling I JUST released the 1st episode of a Serial Romance on Monday! The next 2 episodes come out the next 2 Monday's!! It's fun (but different). :)
