I think it should be out near year end (possibly earlier) as I wanted to gather some material and work my other series. I'm also spending a decent amount of time going back and editing the previous books to try to improve them.

Apologies for not answering this one earlier. I've been stuck thinking about this. I don't know if I have any strong insights to be honest.
Like you mention, I didn't have ARCs, any social media presence to begin with. That being said, I did have friends who gave me feedback and encouraged me to carry on.
If I have one suggestion, it would be to share whatever you write with people, refine, write again. Set a date, and publish. Don't get discouraged!

At the moment I'm thinking 6 to 7 books in this series, but let’s see! A lot of the story gets driven by the characters themselves. They’re the ones guiding it along and I’m really just trying to record their stories faithfully.
