Hi Tiger! Thanks for your question! I tried to put a little bit of everything I loved about the fantasy genre in The Liar & the Knight. Some of my inspirations were The Hobbit, The Witcher series, and the legends of King Arthur. I love all those stories, and I think The Liar & the Knight was inspired by a mixture of them and my own experiences of being away from home while in the military.
