Honestly, this is a hard question to answer without giving away spoilers :) Everyone has a dark side to themselves. Everyone has intrusive thoughts about situations we don’t enact upon. So I would say, The ____ Within started with the idea of, “What would happen if I enacted on that darker side of myself?” Thus Jackson/Jack was born.
Next, was to address some situations that were the worst imaginable reasons for a development like what we see through this inner struggle. Soon the story just pulled itself together. But, I still needed to have a “villain” for the story, and I couldn’t make him too likable. So, when those intrusive thoughts start to be enacted on, we start to form into a version that we don’t like. We see choices made that we regret. But by then, it’s too late. You’re now a person you never wanted to be. Then we look at the recipients of our actions and wonder how it made them feel, which is where I explore the surviving victims and we see the characters act in accordance to those terrible tragedies.
The ____ Within is a story that developed a life of its own starting from that one simple idea I suppose. Action and consequences then became the overall theme propelling us to the pulse pounding conclusion.

Reading is my escape from the realities of this world. It has helped me through many situations. Writing amplifies that feeling a hundred fold. My imagination started as a child playing with various action figures and creating stories that I would write on notebook and just grew from there.

Luckily, I haven’t had issues with writer’s block yet. The stories seem to flow at a pace that is reflected in the writing. I put myself in the mind of the characters, with the situations presented, and let the writing take a form on its own. At times, I’m experiencing the story as the characters are, completely delaying my proposed plot threads to let the scenes grow organically before moving on.

I am currently working on the follow up to my first published novel, The ____ Within. Everyone who has read it, has loved it and is demanding more :) But I also have numerous books and book series that I have been working on over the years that will soon follow.

Having your story, your characters, your efforts discussed by others. Any time feedback comes through and you hear the names of your characters or the plot discussed, it gives you an overwhelming euphoric joy, and you think to yourself, “I did that! This discussion exists because I took the plunge and developed this story and delivered it to the world!” Amazing feeling of accomplishment!

Don’t give up! You will have doubts and fears and feel like you’re leaving yourself exposed by sharing your work with the world, but don’t worry … those are common feelings. If you have a true desire to write, that will be proven in your words that will leap off the pages into your reader’s hearts! There is no greater feeling than finally having your book printed and in your hands.
