Delia Duke I think there are many South-Asian-Indian stories to tell. I am just starting with one or two or three.
Delia Duke I am an observer. There are so many stories to tell. Every day we come across many big and small incidents. Put them all together and they become a story.
Delia Duke Of course, it's a love story with many twists and turns. This one follows a second-generation Indian American girl with dreams of breaking into show business and a third-generation Italian American determined to become the country's top hospitality entrepreneur. They meet by chance, are separated by misunderstandings, and eventually find their way back to each other.
Delia Duke Keep trying, don't give up. It's not easy, but then nothing is easy in life any way.
Delia Duke I think we writers are dreamers. We take the realities and infuse it with fantasy. Our choices define our lives. I want to show my readers that life can improve if we keep making decisions. Even if today's choice is wrong, and tomorrow's too, we must keep trying until we find happiness.
Delia Duke Go for a walk, hiking, cooking, meeting friends... basically anything until my mind opens up to the next few chapters.
Delia Duke We are singing and dancing in the middle of the street, with me in the spotlight until I am exhausted and in need of water. As I walk over to my mom and aunties to grab a bottle, I overhear them planning my memorial service.
Delia Duke I believe that would be the early 19th century, the era in which Jane Austen's stories are set. I would love to be a spectator in that world, witnessing firsthand how far we as women have progressed. What we once dreamed of then, we have now achieved, and so much more.
Delia Duke Currently, I am reading 'It ends with us' by Colleen Hoover and I can't put it down. Too heady, heart wrenching and I thought I am not an emotional person. But to soften the blow I am also listening to 'The Paradise Problem' by Christina Lauren. I have to say, I can't stop listening to that one as well. Next in my list are 'Too Far' & 'Butterfly in Frost' by Sylvia Day.
