Wren Ryce For His Teasing Hand, I wanted to write an enemies to lovers with a little humor. One of the fist stories I thought about was the old John Wayne/Maureen O'Hara movie McClintock. You know the one where he chases her through town? I didn't write a scene like that, but I tried to capture the overall vibe of the movie.

In His Winning Hand, which is related to His Teasing Hand, I went for a much more serious vibe. I have taken several vacations in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana and wanted to write about the early settlers in those areas.
Wren Ryce The two main things that inspire me are books and music. When I read a really good book, it makes me want to write something as good as that. I love songs because they often tell stories or have a theme that inspires me to write something similar.
Wren Ryce His Winning Hand, a novella related to my short story His Teasing Hand.
Wren Ryce Write all the time, even if you never intend to publish it.
Wren Ryce I get to tell myself stories that maybe other people will like as well.
Wren Ryce I deal with writer's block several ways. Sometimes I just start typing what ever comes to mind and that seems to get things flowing. Sometimes, I walk away from the computer and do other things, but in the back of my mind, I'm still thinking about the story. Some of my best ideas have come while I am doing other things.
