I have a severely autistic brother in a group home in another state and I am his guardian. What you said about your experience about having your father in a group home. I am 78 and I know it was a decision that made sense. Recently the organization that runs the group home was bought out by another and they moved him to a different location without notifying it. How do I find someone in the new org who help me?

Lori Jones Hello Carol, I feel deeply for your situation, it is hard to navigate adult care homes. Does he have a social worker? I would have been lost without our caring social worker who guided us through many decisions and obstacles. If you don't have an advocate, you may be able to contact the Autism Society to locate one in your area. It was through a similar organization for Huntington's disease that I was able to.
