Travis McBee It took around 3 months.

When will the next Triton book be out?
Travis McBee I'm still working on the first draft, so I can't give you any kind of super accurate date. Sometime next year, most likely.

When you write a book do you already have the entire plot already worked out or do you just come up with a basic premise and run with it? With the middle and end still to be decided
Travis McBee With some books I'll have the entire thing either plotted out or at least planned in my head, but I usually write without knowing where exactly it's going to go. Sometimes I'll think I know what's going to happen, but it ends up being completely different.

Travis McBee I do quite a few different things, but my largest source is from YouTube and writing itself.

Travis McBee It really depends on the book, but anywhere from 1 to 6 months.

Have you ever thought about becoming a corporate drone for about 2/3 years to get a full salary or to save up till you are financially able to devote a significant amount of time to write and live in convenience? Instead of just about getting by, I know it's a pretty clichéd consensus for the struggling starving artist to live in a shabby apartment while he or she produces their work, what would you rather do?
Travis McBee I actually recently got a part time job, but it was much more because of needing human interaction than the money. I naturally lead a frugal lifestyle--shopping is a chore, not a hobby--so I've never needed or really even craved a higher income.

When writing a short story, do you typically write the whole thing, or do you set a goal for your word count? I just started writing my own short stories and find myself only writing 2000 words a day. How many words should a beginner write a day? Thanks so much!
Travis McBee I usually try to write the entire thing in one sitting. However, most of my "short stories" tend to end up being 10-20k words long, so it's not uncommon for me to spend up to a week on the first draft.
