It is simply something I have always wanted to do. I am also a political and history buff. I love a good joke or story, so I try to combine all of them in my novels.

Mr. Clean: Serial Killer is already written but I'm now on Chapter 8, out of 28 chapters, of formatting it in my computer. Then comes the re-write, and then the re-write of the re-write. Finally I give it to my editor wife and she destroys it with her red pen. Damn editors. :-) When she is done with it I have to do another re-write.

It is not easy, so do it only if you feel compelled to write. My wife is an editor. She loves to edit other author's work, and although she is also a published author, writing is not something she enjoys doing. I keep on her to write another children's book, but she is busy working on other writer's manuscripts and never seems to have the desire to get started on another one. It's just something you have got to want to do or I doubt you will be good at it. If you feel compelled to write, keep at it and don't get discouraged. Write for a target audience because not everyone will want to read you book.

You write when you want to. I always wanted to write but law practice consumes your life and I never had time. I'm retired now and have the time to do what I want to do. I would not enjoy writing something a third party told me I had to cover.

I never experienced writer's block. Fifteen years of representing clients in criminal cases gave me enough ideas for at least 10 novels.

I was and attorney for 26 years and did heavy criminal work for 15 years. Most every case in my novels are based upon cases that I handled. I have enough memories of them to write 10 books.
