Right now, I really haven't had any block, just promoting the ones I have takes every waking minute. There's no fun in writing more if very few people have read what you've already written. It's not about fame or fortune (although that doesn't hurt) it's about watching and hearing the response of those who have read your work, whether it's good or bad. If it brings out emotions like passion, fright, joy, laughter, romance or even anger it becomes like a song, you want to hear more. what does it do for you? For most musicians, an audience response to their performance is what it's all about...the applause!

As a musician, singer songwriter first, the right song can make you happy, sad, frightened, patriotic, romantic, or fill you with deep emotions. You'll remember where you were, who you were with and what that song meant to you. Writing a novel, essay or poem can take the reader on a trip to anywhere in the world at anytime and cause you to use your imagination to it's fullest. When I was a child you could give me a cardboard box, metal bucket, a few boards, some cloth, tin foil etc. I could be an astronaut, pirate, Civil War soldier, cowboy, super hero or any thing I wanted to be, just with my imagination. We need more of that today.

Never give up! Keep writing, keep submitting to publishers, collect all the rejection letters. When you make it, you can have a great laugh.

I have wanted to write stories since I was sixteen years old. I ordered a course at the time from the "Famous Writers School" but after sending me the materials to study, I had to return the course due to lack of funds. Many years later, I took a creative writing course in a local Community College and learned the ins and outs of creative writing. I had a very vivid imagination.

A man that I met twenty years ago was a German soldier in WWII. He told me he was not a Nazi and I thought they all were. He was in a rest home and was in horrible shape, listening to some of his brief stories led me to start writing a fictional tale about that time in history.
