One summer day, my 6th Grade friends and I explored downtown Rowlett, Texas on horseback. We discovered an old bank building with the Old Timey 19th c. lettering and bars on the window. Legend has it that Jesse James once robbed that bank. But did he? And why were the old storefronts hidden and overgrown with Johnson grass. We tried to find it again in high school and couldn't. Did it exist or was it--like "Bloody Mary" in the mirror--a figment of pre-teen imaginations?
