I've always loved American historicals, so it was a natural step for me to write one about seven sisters who survived the Civil War in Marietta, GA. At the end of the war, they had nothing. No family, no way to survive but to become a mail order bride. I'm totally in love with these seven sisters. I am working on book II, Love on the Plains, now. Book I, Love on the Prairie, and book II, Love in the Rockies is now available.

I've always had a crazy imagination. I have story ideas pop into my head by the minute. The problem is more in figuring out what stories are worth writing.

My advice for aspiring writers is to keep writing. Do not let anyone tell you that you can't be successful. If a girl with a language disorder can write over 25 books, hit USA Today Bestseller list, and win awards, anyone can achieve success as an author. That being said, I'm a total workaholic. It takes a TON of time, energy and hard work to make it in this business.

The best thing about being a writer is that I can work from home. This allows me to have more time with my family. I love being able to have snack time with my kiddos after school each day.

I tend to go for a run, hike, or drive. Anything that will allow me to let my mind fade. Okay, so maybe I shouldn't have mentioned driving. :)
